Replacement Bed Tower
BJC HealthCare and Alton Memorial Hospital selected S. M. Wilson & Co. to provide construction management services for the new replacement bed tower at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, Illinois. Alton Memorial Hospital’s previous bed tower had constrained space and had reached functional obsolescence. The new bed tower allows for an increased patient experience, staff efficiency and patient flow through the hospital during a patient’s stay.
The new 78,000 SF, three-story bed tower is a completely private bed facility with 76 new private rooms. Construction also included a lobby and registration area, an inpatient pharmacy, inpatient therapy areas and inpatient lab services.
