ST. LOUIS, MO—S. M. Wilson’s Chief Marketing Officer Amanda Bohnert was honored at this year’s Associated General Contractors of Missouri (AGCMO) Annual Conference for her leadership and continued contributions to AGCMO’s Women of STEEL.
Amanda Bohnert and Katey Twehous of Twehous Excavating Co., Inc. were honored as Chair(s) of the Year for their outstanding contributions to Women of STEEL and the AGCMO. Both women were instrumental in creating the organization in 2021 and have continued to work as co-chairs to assist women in “Seeking To Engage Elevate and Lead” in their careers at all levels of the construction industry. Women of STEEL seeks to engage and provide women with professional development and networking opportunities. In addition to events held throughout Missouri, the organization has an annual conference in Lake of the Ozarks, which welcomes women from across the state.
“This is an incredible honor for Amanda and S. M. Wilson. Her efforts continue to change the landscape for women every day. An organization such as Women of STEEL assists in providing an avenue for additional development and leadership opportunities,” said Rebecca Cornatzer, interim president and chief human resources officer at S. M. Wilson.
For 20 years, Bohnert has worked in S. M. Wilson’s marketing department. In 2019, she was promoted to the firm’s first Chief Marketing Officer. While at the company, Bohnert helped establish two of S. M. Wilson’s existing programs: #SMWill, the firm’s corporate giving program, and SKILLED®, a construction career program.
