St. Louis, Mo., September 27, 2019 – S. M. Wilson & Co. has promoted Chris Watkins and Travis Schmitt to Assistant Project Superintendent, Eva Chapin to Project Manager and Nichole Geiger to Assistant Project Manager.
Watkins and Schmitt joined S. M. Wilson as Field Interns in the Summer of 2018 where they both demonstrated impressive work ethics to warrant fall and winter co-op opportunities before being hired as full-time Field Engineers.
Watkins has worked on S. M. Wilson’s 5300 Centre Apartments project since he started as an intern. He has demonstrated a high degree of professionalism while quickly gaining the trust of the team. His drive and ability to quickly assimilate information led to being elevated to Lead Field Engineer.
As an intern, Schmitt worked on Ladue School District’s Horton Watkins High School addition and renovation. He quickly became a valued member of the team on the high-profile, complicated project with a demanding schedule. He is currently working on City Foundry STL, a $90 million mixed-use redevelopment in midtown St. Louis. Schmitt has continued to flourish, taking on numerous tasks including managing a complicated structural steel package.
Watkins holds a B.S. in Construction Management from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville. Schmitt has an Associate in Applied Science – Construction Management Technology from Southwestern Illinois College along with 10 years of construction experience. Both are OSHA 30 certified.
Chapin has worked on several challenging projects over the recent past, including Solana East Cobb and 5300 Centre Apartments. She began working on 5300 Centre, a luxury apartments community, mid-project last year and quickly became instrumental to the project through her experience, dedication and teamwork to get results while building a rapport with the Owner. Chapin holds a B.S. in Marketing and Fine Arts from Northern Illinois University and is ASHE, CQM and OSHA 30 certified.
Geiger has worked on several challenging, high profile projects including the BJC Campus Renewal project and City Foundry STL. On both projects, she demonstrated a high level of dedication and passion to excel to the project team. Geiger has continually tackled the challenges at hand, providing invaluable experience. She is a member of the AGC Construction Leadership Council, holds a B.S. in Architectural Engineering from Missouri University of Science & Technology and is OSHA 30 certified.
