WOOLWORTH BUILDING

Historic Renovation

The 58,904 SF renovation of the historic Woolworth building, located at the northwest corner of Olive and Grand, involved preserving several of the original features, such as restoring the terrazzo flooring and grand staircase on the ground floor. Architectural features include stretched fabric structures in the interior spaces and architectural lighting outside.

Two-thirds of the space was converted into the new Big Brothers Big Sisters headquarters, which includes reception and consulting spaces on the ground floor. The second floor houses offices, a library and a lunchroom. Additional office and conference room space is located on the third floor. Also located on the ground floor of the building is space for the Kranzberg Cultural Arts Center, which includes a black box theater and cabaret. Craft Alliance has space on the first floor for an art gallery, with an office area and artist studio in the basement.
