COLUMBIA COLLEGE

Brouder Science Center

The two-story, state-of-the-art Science Brouder Science Center houses the physical and biological sciences department, the nursing department and the forensic science program. The west wing has five classrooms, 18 faculty offices, conference room, and a 126-seat lecture hall.

The classrooms include flexible seating and technology such as data projectors and SMART boards. The nursing simulation room allows hands-on-training, with students using SimMan, a simulated patient.

The north wing is solely for laboratories and houses five general labs and eight advanced labs. The north wing has 100% turnover air ventilation to ensure safety in the laboratories. Air is vacuumed out four times per hour and replaced with fresh air using the ventilation system and special fume hoods. The building also uses reclaimed heat and motion sensor lights.
