Hallsville School District breaks ground on new Athletic Field with a New Classroom Addition to follow

By April 3, 2026No Comments

HALLSVILLE, MO – Hallsville School District has broken ground on the next phase of its long-range Comprehensive School Improvement Plan with S. M. Wilson as the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR). The project includes a new multi-purpose turf baseball field at Hallsville High School, concessions building renovations, parking lot expansion and construction of new secured entries. Also included in the project is a two classroom addition to the first-grade classroom wing that will feature modern educational amenities. The project team will install security doors and renovate the main entrances at the intermediate, middle and high schools.

This is the third bond-issue program that S. M. Wilson has led for the district. Past projects include the $10 million Proposition B middle school storm shelter addition andathletic upgrades in 2024 and the 31,000-square-foot Hallsville Primary School gymnasium and classroom additions in 2020. The project is scheduled to be completed this year. The architect is Klingner & Associates, P.C. The new $5.5 million project is funded through refinancing the district’s 2018 bond series and the Proposition 2 bond program, which was overwhelmingly approved by voters in November 2025.

“Building on the success of Phase 1—completed on time and under budget—these projects reflect the strong support of the Hallsville community and their investment in our schools,” stated the Hallsville School District Facebook page.

S. M. Wilson is a leader in public education projects delivered through the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) method. The Hallsville R-IV School District’s 2018 Bond Program was S. M. Wilson’s first CMAR project after the project delivery method was approved in the state in 2016. S. M. Wilson has worked in partnership with 46 school districts in Missouri and Illinois, including Columbia Public Schools, Francis Howell R-III School District, Jefferson City School District, Ladue School District, Winfield R-IV School District and Pattonville R-III School District, among others.
