City of Chesterfield Government Center & Parking Garage

The multi-phased building program included construction of a new 60,000 SF government center and a 40,000 SF structured parking garage. The parking structure was a post tension cast in place two- level structure, one level below grade and one above, with parking for 100 cars. The government center houses the city’s police department, including a state-of-the-art detention facility, city council chambers, City Clerk and administrative offices, and the Public Works and Park & Recreation department. The sitework was a major challenge. A 60-foot retaining wall was built and an underground water detention system with twin reinforced concrete box-culvert cast-in-place was installed. In addition, approximately 50,000 yards of fill was moved and 15,000 was imported to fill the site.
