St. Louis, Mo., January 12, 2010 – Scott Wilson recently received the 2009 Diversity Champion Award by the St. Louis Council for Construction Consumers (STCCC) in recognition of his extensive efforts to promote diversity in the local construction industry. SLCCC represents owners who are major buyers of construction in the St. Louis region. It provides leadership to improve cost and quality in delivery of capital facilities and maintenance by the St. Louis design and construction industry.
SLCCC honored Wilson for leveraging his position as President of S. M. Wilson & Co. to build numerous partnerships among key business organizations to achieve diversity goals. In addition, Wilson personally mentors and coaches minority owned contractors.
“Scott has helped insure solid recruitment for the Construction Careers Center charter high school, actively recruit MBE/WBE/DBE participants who can take advantage of the full range of AGC services, and facilitate more diverse and inclusive participation at all AGC events,” said Len Toenjes, AGC President.
