St. Louis, Mo., March 23, 2012 –S. M. Wilson & Co. has been selected to construct a new 222,000 square-foot Von Maur store at Perimeter Mall in Atlanta, Georgia. Von Maur will become an anchor at the mall, renovating the space previously occupied by Bloomingdales. When completed, the three level location will be one of the largest Von Maur stores in the country.

The project will include the demolition of the skin, roof and interior of the existing store, fully retrofitting the interior, rebuilding three entrance facades, reconfiguring the store’s center atrium and providing new vertical conveyances to serve all three floors.

S. M. Wilson will provide pre-construction, construction management and general contracting services for the project, which will begin in March 2012 and be scheduled for completion in September 2012. Shive Hattery, Inc. is architect for the project. 

This is S. M. Wilson’s third project for Von Maur, Inc. The company has built two new Von Maur department stores in the past three years, including a 124,000 square foot store in Lake St. Louis, Missouri and a 142,952 square foot store in the Atlanta suburb of Alpharetta, Georgia.
