 S. M. Wilson & Co. has completed a $51 million program of building renovations, expansions and site improvements for the School District of Clayton in Clayton, Missouri. The two-year, multi-phase building program included renovations and additions to Clayton High School, Captain Elementary School, Glenridge Elementary School, Meramec Elementary School and the Family Center.
Construction began in August 2009. Funding for the program was made possible by the passage of Proposition S by voters in the School District of Clayton.
Clayton High School received a new three-story science and technology addition consisting of new classrooms and science labs, as well as a small two-story addition that relocated the athletic department and added new health and PE classrooms. The school’s theater was renovated along with many of the existing classrooms and offices. The project also included fire sprinklers for the entire school, HVAC and building system upgrades.
The elementary schools all received additional classroom space, as well as repairs and updates to the heating, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical systems and fire sprinklers. The Family Center received additional early childhood education classroom space.
S. M. Wilson provided pre-construction and construction management services for the project. Architects include Bond+Wolfe Architects for the high school project and Trivers Associates for the elementary school and Family Center projects.
In 2010, S. M. Wilson completed a district-wide school renovation program for the Ladue School District.
